Curriculum-Based Field Studies

Immersive Studies Include:

  • Kid exploring the underwaters with a sea urchin

    Marine Health and Ecosystems Dynamics

    A comparative study of the presence of sea urchins and kelp as an indicator of marine health. This study includes a snorkel session.

  • Outdoor studies concept - group of kids kayaking on the harbour

    Human Impacts and Plastics Study

    A comparative study of the presence of macro and microplastics as an indicator of our impact on the environment. This study includes a kayak session OR a coast walk.

  • Marine studies concept - school group exploring the coastline

    Marine Health and Human Impact Study

    This combined study demonstrates the interaction between the environment and humans, with students undertaking an adaptation of the two other studies.

    Equipment

    Land’s Edge Foundation provides all necessary equipment for each study, including snorkel and kayak equipment, fieldwork booklets, survey materials, risk assessments and safety management plans.

Full Day Programs

Our Curriculum Based Field Studies (CBFS) programs are offered on weekdays during school term. These studies are designed to be full-day programs and can be arranged as a single day excursion or as part of a larger multi-day outdoor education program.
