About Us

For over 25 years we have been delivering impactful and meaningful programming utilising a whole child, whole curriculum and whole community focus. We foster an inquiry-based and lifelong learning approach, with a focus on students’ thinking skills, reasoning, problem-solving and evaluation.

Land’s Edge

Land’s Edge takes its name and inspiration from Tim Winton’s Land’s Edge, a memoir that celebrates Winton’s affinity with the coast - “the end of the world begins in the sea we love”. Winton’s reflections resonated deeply with what the architects of Land’s Edge envisaged for the company — an ethos rooted in awe, wonder, and the transformative power of nature.

Founded by people passionate about outdoor education, Land’s Edge exists to help young folk experience a sense of discovery and inspiration in the outdoors. Whether it’s through exploring Sydney Harbour, traversing alpine trails, or learning about marine ecosystems, our programs embody the spirit of living and learning. Better people, better planet.

“THE POUNDING OF THE SWELL AGAINST THE LAND’S EDGE WAS SO CLEAR IT SEEMED THE SEA WAS ONLY A DUNE AWAY. I DIDN’T NEED A MAP TO KNOW WHERE I WAS.

THE SEA IS A FIELD OF MIRACLES, A PROFUSION OF DEPTHS AND MYSTERIES.”
